Teaching Experience:
- 2002, 2007, 2008 Arden Community Recreation Association, Wilmington, DE: I worked on staff of the ACRA Summer camp program as an Artist in Residence. My emphasis was drawing, printing and painting techniques. The grade range of students was from entering first grade to entering eighth grade.
- 2007-2008 Art Instructor: Teaching drawing and painting to students in 2nd grade and up from life and photographed subject matter in pencil, charcoal and acrylic paint.
- 2006 -08 Volunteer Artist in Residence, Wilmington Montessori School, Wilmington, DE: Throughout the school year I plan and execute art projects with a focus on drawing and painting that enhance the classroom curriculum for grades 1st through 6th grade.
- 2007 Arden Community Recreation Association, Wilmington, DE: I worked on staff of the ACRA Summer camp program as the Art Director. I planned and executed projects ranging from paper mache, several print making techniques, drawing, watercolor painting and painted paper collage. The grade range of students was from entering first grade to entering eighth grade.
- 2006 Teachers Workshop, Wilmington Montessori School, Wilmington, DE: In this workshop given to teachers of Kindergarten through 6th grade I presented drawing and painting skills that could be used throughout the classroom curriculum to enhance learning.
- 2004 Artist in Residence, Wilmington Montessori School, Wilmington, DE: With a grant through Delaware Division of the Arts I worked with teachers of Toddler, Preschool and Kindergarten classrooms giving workshops on drawing skills, paint techniques and art appreciation that were be a jumping off point for classroom projects.
- 2003 - 06 Art Appreciation Volunteer, Wilmington Montessori School, Wilmington, DE: Throughout the school year I presented lessons on various artists and assisted in the execution of related projects that complimented the curriculum of a 1st through 3rd grade classroom.
- 2003 Artist in Residence, Mount Pleasant Elementary School Wilmington, DE: With a grant through Delaware Division of the Arts I worked with one 2nd grade classroom and one 1st, 2nd grade gifted classroom. The project was found object assemblages and collages that complimented the student’s classroom studies of recycling, and life cycles.
- 1998, 2002, 2003 Wilmington Montessori School Wilmington, DE: Throughout the school year I prepared, demonstrated and assisted in the execution of art projects for 3-5 year olds. One year this included a study of Eric Carle’s illustrations in his books for children. The children made their own painted papers that were used to collage large butterflies.
